Hesperia Hospital is a private hospital with a multi-speciality orientation and highly specialized departments. In particular, the Institute is home to an internationally renown cardiac surgery centre, supported by a hemodynamic laboratory and coronary units characterized by innovative strategy development. According to the National Outcomes Program 2021, the evaluation conducted by the Italian Ministry of Health, Hesperia Hospital represents the first cardiac surgery facility in Italy with the lowest mortality rate.

Accredited private multi-specialist medical-surgical hospital of high speciality, that began practising in 1983.

Placing the patient-client at the centre of the personalized diagnostic care system, gives concrete expression to the corporate philosophy of the Garofalo Health Care - GHC Group.

Keeping this idea in mind, the structure was built according to the most advanced healthcare criteria. It developed its activity by making specific choices related to the implementation of specialized disciplines, favouring high specialty disciplines, supported by advanced and complex technologies, and coordinated by multidisciplinary staff.

These factors allowed the structure to achieve high levels of performance and excellent clinical results.

The 2017 National Outcome Evaluation Programme, published by Agenas, the National Agency for Regional Health Services, which monitors the outcomes and results of all Italian hospitals on behalf of the Ministry of Health, repeatedly declared the Cardiosurgery Department of Hesperia Hospital as one of the top Italian hospitals because of its results in the surgical treatment of the most widespread heart diseases: with a mortality index of 0.51%, including risk adjustment that takes into account the patient’s complexity.

Hesperia Hospital has 125 beds, allocated as follows:

  • 25 beds for critical care, allocated to the Intensive Care Unit (reanimation), Semi-Intensive Therapy, and the Coronary Intensive Care Unit (UTIC).

All departments are equipped with modern equipment, able to fully meet all diagnosis and treatment needs. It also has a qualified medical and nursing team with many years of professional experience.

Since 1999, to guarantee high quality standards and services, Hesperia Hospital also obtained Quality Certification and is currently a UNI EN ISO 9001-2008 certified company.

Hesperia hospital is a concrete expression of the corporate philosophy of the GHC Group, Garofalo Health Care. It places the patient-client at the centre of its personalized healthcare diagnostic system. In line with this approach, the structure was built with advanced healthcare architecture criteria and has a quality management system certified to the ISO 9001-2015 standard.

It has also been accredited at the European level as European Training Centre of Phlebology and National Reference Training Centre in Phlebology, as well as being accredited by the Italian European Society of Intervention Radiology.

Hesperia Hospital also has conventional relationships with numerous Italian universities and with "La Sorbonne" University in Paris for teaching activities related to the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the deep venous system.

Hesperia Hospital is part of the group of Healthcare Organizations that, since 2006, have launched, in coordination with the Emilia Romagna Region, a specific programme to control hospital infections in cardiothoracic surgery, general surgery and critical areas.

In 2016, Hesperia Hospital Modena S.p.A. promoted and established the ONLUS Foundation "Hesperia Bimbi", which assists children in need of highly specialist care, not only in countries where healthcare is particularly disadvantaged, but also by welcoming children from these countries to the Hesperia Hospital facility. At the same time, it supports the indigent families of assisted children by offering them reimbursement for travel and accommodation expenses for medical treatment, therapies and surgical procedures, and promotes the training of healthcare workers in those countries most in need.

Since 2001, the Hesperia Scientific Committee was established, which includes important professionals from the scientific community, who are tasked with, among others: evaluating and controlling scientific projects, proposing the development of new clinical programmes and assessing the scientific value of new technologies and their impact on improving procedures. In 2016 and 2017, several research projects were launched, including participation in Horizon 2020: European research and innovation programme.

On 16 July 2019, Hesperia Hospital acquired Aesculapio Srl, the largest polyclinic centre in the northern area of the province of Modena. It is also considered a major regional health centre, operating both as a public healthcare provider accredited by the Emilia-Romagna Region, and as a private healthcare provider in the main branches of specialized outpatient services, including: radiology, urology, breast examination, paediatrics, pulmonology, gynaecology, orthopaedics, ophthalmology, gastroenterology, endocrinology, ultrasound, dietetics, dermatology, magnetic resonance, surgery, angiology, cardiology, laboratory diagnostics .
