GLASS CEILINGS AND RUBBER WALLS – FEMALE LEADERSHIP AND ESG MISSION

Monday, March 4, 2024

Inclusion, equal pay, networking and representation are some of the measures proposed as part of the conference organized by Consob in Rome in support of female leadership and entitled "Glass ceilings and rubber walls - Female leadership and ESG mission".

Among the interventions also that of the CEO of GHC, Cav. Maria Laura Garofalo, who underlined that in Italian healthcare only 14% of head doctors are women, despite the fact that there are many more women with medical degrees than men, thanks to the organizational skills and commitment to study that distinguish them. Naturally it is essential to spread an equal culture of merit, also in economic terms, but it is also important that young students who begin a professional career do not let themselves be discouraged by obstacles, but believe strongly and with determination in their own abilities so that the results can finally arrive. . Leadership in both women and men depends primarily on a precise character trait, also capable of grasping and developing different opportunities.

Maurizio Leo (Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance) opened the proceedings.

Following the interventions on female leadership, introduced by Gabriella Alemanno (Consob Commissioner), by: Mirja Cartia d'Asero (CEO Il Sole 24 Ore); Maria Laura Garofalo (CEO Garofalo Health Care); Elena Patrizia Goitini (CEO BNL BNP Paribas); Nicoletta Spagnoli (Chair & CEO Luisa Spagnoli); Annalisa Stupenengo (CEO Landi Renzo Group).
